As with many other endeavors in my life, I can be overly ambitious, impulsive and excited about new and novel ideas without necessarily thinking things all the way through. Case in point, the idea of joining the millions of individuals who have started their own blogs. Since I started this adventure, I have had to pause, take some time to reflect and finally determine what I want this blog to be about.
The name of this blog is comprised of three words, “Faith” which is my first name and two strengths/talents that I possess which are my ability to be “futuristic and focused”. By the way, the book Strengths Finder 2.0 by Tim Rath is awesome if you want to find out what your strengths/talents are and if you are confused as to what strengths you possess, this book will lead you to the opportunity to do what you do best everyday.
That being said, the purpose of this blog will be to find and share enriching tools/strategies/resources that help individuals including myself to live a life that is purpose driven, proactive vs. reactive and focused on a positive and faith filled future. These may be written from different perspectives that I have which include, my realtor, professional, human, wife, mother and female hats. It’s a great feeling to finally have clarity! Make this a great day folks and check in for new updates!

Uncertain Times
I would be remiss if I started a blog in the year 2009 and did not pause to remark on the times we are currently living in. The times can be summarized in one word - UNCERTAIN. What we felt was a country largely indestructible and indomitable due to a great capitalist system that could surely only bring about vast amounts of prosperity and democracy has completely changed with the current economic crisis. We watch the news helplessly knowing that something in the very essence of our society and culture has gone gravely amiss. Even worse is the realization that those we thought were the very intelligent gate keepers of the past economic model maintained by light regulation, debt and dependence on financial services, are now not only partly to blame, but have no consequence or ramifications to deal with.
As we continue to learn everyday about: yet another bailout request; the demise of yet another imperative sector of our economy; additional job losses; the new Barry Maddof of the day; Citibank’s plan to purchase a 50 million dollar corporate jet(!?) while at the same time we read about a Michigan man slowly freezing to death because he’s electricity got cut off, we can’t help but wonder when this collapse will finally trickle down and hit our neighborhood, subdivision, place of employment and God forbid our own home and family. As we wait for a panacea and or any answer, we are slowly realizing that it will have to take a new and complete change not only in global thinking and living, but a paradigm shift in our view of current moral, ethical, societal and cultural ways --- then just maybe we will overcome our current and future economic uncertainty.

Blogging Officially Begins!
I have never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would have my own blog. However, I guess a time and season exists for everything. As I sit here typing, I am overwhelmed at the really cool satisfaction in expressing myself without having a deadline, imposed subject or content nagging at my brain. As my URL indicates, my name is Faith and I am not only futuristic, but also focused. This blog will be an opportunity for me to share random unorganized thoughts as well as interesting news and tidbits from the world of real estate, self/personal development as well as news and any other life happenings that might interest me. Make it a great day!
